The Law of Unintended Consequences: Pill Caused "Demographic Catastrophe"

One of the inventors of the birth control pill, Carl Djerassi, an Austrian chemist and one of the three originators of the original synthetic progesterone, Norethisterone, calls the impact of the pill on society as a "demographic catastrophe." The pills environmental impact is also a disaster. with tons of hormones polluting the environment and impairing male fertility. In the UK the Daily Mail headlined an article warning of a Fertility Timebomb Found in Drinking Water. Men may be glad to have women take the pill so they can always be available as free sex toys. How many would be happy to know that they may be paying the price of chemical castration for their fun?

Planned Parenthood and other population control/anti-natalist organizations would like you to believe that Plan B  is a contraceptive. They are so serious about misleading women that they call Plan B emergency contraception. One problem: evidence indicates that it's not a contraceptive at all, but an abortifacient.

Let's start by defining terms. What is a contraceptive? The word derives from Latin contra, meaning against, and the ending of coneptio (or the old French conception) meaning conceiving, i.e., the fertilization of an ovum by a sperm forming a zygote. A contraceptive, by definition, prevents conception or the beginning of a new life.

But that is NOT how Plan B and other chemical birth control methods operate. It does not prevent ovulation nor does it prevent the sperm and ovum from joining, i.e. the event of ovulation. It's most likely operation is to prevent implantation by altering the lining of the uterus. Instead of the baby arriving at a plush apartment to take up residence for the next 37 weeks, the baby arrives in the midst of a home demolition to be tossed out along with the trash.

Previously, the method has been viewed as a contraceptive, but a closer look at the findings of a new study, published in the Contraception Journal, suggests that it may have a predominant, abortifacient effect.

The study itself claims to show that Plan B is not abortifacient, but the actual results showed that women given the drug BEFORE ovulation, even though they subsequently ovulated, experienced 0 pregnancies. The data ruled out interference with sperm since the drug was given AFTER intercourse. According to Dr. Pedulla:

Is Plan B a contraceptive at all? The preponderance of the evidence suggests not. Seeing this, other investigators have recently advanced far-flung, speculative explanations such as glycodelin-A[20] effects, and the relatively new concept of the “unfertilizable oocyte”[21], the former being ultimately disproved by the very investigators raising the possibility and the latter[22] being not so much a case of data in search of conclusions as a priori conclusions in search of supporting data.[23]

In view of the dishonest redefining of terms, e.g., Planned Parenthood says "Pregnancy begins when a fertilized egg implants in the uterus," one must often evaluate critically studies that claim to prove one thing when they actually illustrate something else. The Planned Parenthood example shows how the lie works. Their definition of pregnancy contains two huge lies. First, a "fertilized egg" NEVER implants in the uterus. The egg is fertilized in the upper third of the fallopian tube and cell division begins within hours. By the time the growing embryo reaches the uterus, the child is already about 100 cells, hardly a "fertilized egg." It is an embryo who implants in the uterine wall. Why would PP make what is obviously an obvious medical error? Because they want to dehumanize the baby. A living, rapidly-growing embryo  is a little harder to ignore than a "fertilized egg."

PP's second lie is that pregnancy begins at implantation. Implantation, however, doesn't take place until a week or ten days after fertilization when the pregnancy is already off to a good start. What exactly does PP think the little one is before day ten? A carrot? Obviously a woman is pregnant when the sperm penetrates the egg and the baby begins to grow. If there is no pregnancy until the baby implants in the uterus, there would be no such thing as an ectopic pregnancy where the baby is growing in the fallopian tube.

There are many who have a stake in promoting the notion that drugs that cause early abortions do not. So-called chemical contraceptive methods actually cause abortions all or most of the time. The attempt to claim otherwise is simply a modern example of newspeak where words are used deceptively to mean the opposite of reality. Calling Plan B and other chemical birth control methods contraceptives is newspeak from PP and other people of the lie.

The Horrible Reality Exposed by Kermit Gosnell

Over the past few months I've read many articles about Kermit Gosnell's grisly abortion mill. His callousness and the scope of his murderous behavior is shocking even to someone like me who has spent the last 45 years immersed in trying to expose the bloody evil of the abortion movement. While Planned Parenthood tries to convince people that he is an aberration, he seems all-too-typical to me. I remember a conversation with Thomas Gressinger, the medical director at the Northern Virginia Women's Medical Center (highfalutin name for an abortion mill that did no women's medicine, except killing little women among others). Gressinger admitted that the babies in the women were human and then shrugged. "So what?" was his cavalier response. Picketing outside a hotel in D.C. years ago where the abortionists were holding a meeting, I spoke to the notorious Bill Baird, "father of abortion rights." I carried a poster with the famous Life Magazine cover showing a late term baby. He denied the fact (with a straight face) that it was a baby. "Any two-year-old could recognize it," I responded. Only the lying killers could relegate this obvious member of our human family to a subhuman "fetus," fodder for greedy abortionists, the mothers' hired killers.

An article in the Lincoln Diocese's newspaper points out the logical consistency of Kermit Gosnell's actions:

Indeed, there is a hideous logical consistency in Gosnell’s career. He started off killing children in the womb, and ended up killing them after birth. At some point, the distinction between abortion and infanticide must have struck him as a mere technicality, just a matter of geography....Indeed, on the level of moral principles, infanticide and abortion are equivalent. Kermit Gosnell took the abortion mentality to its logical conclusion.

But the article goes even further to connect Gosnell's mentality with the preceding moral evil, contraception. Contraception is the culture of death's entry drug. It leads inexorably to Gosnell's house of horrors:

But the link between infanticide and abortion is not the only issue raised by this case. There is also the larger question of how human life is regarded, in a culture where contraception is widespread and abortion becomes "backup birth control." After all, most women who seek an abortion are on some form of birth control. 

Kermit Gosnell’s actions are the logical outcome of the abortion mentality. But they are also, in a deeper sense, the result of what Blessed John Paul II called the "contraceptive mentality."
Many people wrongly believe contraception prevents abortion. This is not borne out by statistics, or by careful thinking about the issues. 

Research shows that contraception leads to riskier behavior, more unplanned pregnancies, and consequently, more abortion. When contraception fails – as it inevitably does – couples are tempted to eliminate the "unwanted" life.

In the end Kermit Gosnell's trial is not just about Gosnell and his baby-killing (and mother-killing) cohorts. It is about us. A community can be judged by the way it treats the weak and defenseless. The reason the media doesn't want to cover the Gosnell trial is that it holds a mirror up to ourselves and the kind of people we have become. It's not a pretty sight!
