Are These Black Men Guilty of Profiling? Are They Racists?

Here's what Jessie Jackson said to New York Times columnist Bob Herbert in 1993 which was quoted in the paper on 12/12/93:
‘There is nothing more painful to me at this stage of my life than to walk down the street and hear footsteps and start thinking about robbery, then look around and see somebody white and feel relieved.”
Painful or not, Jessie Jackson knew, just as Pastor Manning knows, that if the person on a dark street with you is a young black man in a hoodie, your suspicion and uneasiness ARE REASONABLE.
Sorry, white liberals, but that's the truth and you know it. Elite white media can pretend that fear is unjustified. Let's face it, does Diane Sawyer who makes $12 million a year as ABC's news anchor have to worry about walking down a dark street alone in Harlem or Queens? Is she walking up the sidewalk in a crime ridden suburban townhouse community when she gets out of her car with a bag of groceries? How loud are you laughing? It's easy for these rich white liberals in their gated communities, with their chauffeurs and bodyguards to label the hoi polloi as racists. Do you think any of them would have mentored Trayvon Martin or even given him the time of day?

It's a sad fact of life that black men commit an inordinately large number of violent crimes compared to their number in the population. Address that problem, Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson, by strengthening the black family. Encourage dads to be responsible, encourage families to get married and stay together. Stop using every crisis for your own power and money grabbing agenda.

As for you white liberal hypocrites, where is the outrage at Jessie Jackson's profiling? Can anyone seriously claim that the situation is better now than it was in 1993 with the latest lawless crazes being flash mob robberies and the knockout game? Race baiting doesn't solve the problem, it just makes it worse. Stock stoking up anger in the black community! How are riots in the inner city going to help anybody?

Justice for Darryl: Where is Al Sharpton?

From the article:
On Thursday, July 11, police discovered the rotting body of 17-year-old Darryl Green, a black child from the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago. Green’s body was found behind a boarded-up house in the 6500-block of South Damen, face down on basement stairs. The body was so badly decomposed that originally, local news reports suggested that he had died of blunt force trauma. On Friday, an autopsy showed he had been shot to death. Relatives reported that Green had refused to join a gang at school.
Meanwhile, members of the media including Reverend Al Sharpton and Reverend Jesse Jackson focused on the “not guilty” verdict in [the Florida case]. The only media outlets that have covered the murder of Darryl Green areThe Chicago Sun-Times and ABC 7 Chicago. The New York Times’ Joe Nocera mentioned Green in passing in a blog post devoted to highlighting gun crimes across the country. President Obama has not commented on Green’s death. Neither have any other politicians, including local Congressmen Danny Davis and Bobby Rush, or Mayor Rahm Emanuel. Neither has anyone at MSNBC,CNN, ABC News, NBC News, CBS News, The Washington Post, Associated Press, Reuters, or throughout the Hollywood community.
A kid probably killed by a gang...who cares? Just one more likely black on black crime that can't be used by Al Sharpton and the media to push their agenda. Remember Darryl Green in your prayers, a kid whose life and death don't matter to the high and mighty. Darryl might look like Obama's son if Obama had one, but he's no earthly use to Obama's political goals so the good kid from O's home town is invisible. Let him not be invisible to us. Pray for Darryl Green! And whenever somebody talks to you about Trayvon Martin ask if they've ever heard of Daryll Green.

Grant him eternal rest, O Lord, and give comfort to his family.

Trayvon Martin was no Medgar Evers!

I spent about an hour last night watching live coverage after the Zimmerman acquittal. Some of it made me shake my head. We live today in a world where virtual reality is the norm. Many people don't appear to care about the truth; only about their own perceptions (no matter how unhinged from reality) and about their feelings.

The Zimmerman trial brought that to the fore in a way that is baffling and head-shaking. The trial was NEVER about race and yet demagogues of racial division, like Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton and even the lawyers for the Martin family, continuously beat the racial bigotry drum. So a young man with a history of mentoring black kids, a man who was virtually the ONLY person to champion the rights of a homeless black man assaulted by a white cop's adult son, was portrayed as a monster of evil who hated blacks and stalked Trayvon with intent to kill. It was a script from the Twilight Zone, one that evidence presented by the prosecution could not sustain. The verdict was correct. There was no way a jury presented with the facts of the case could convict. There wasn't only "reasonable doubt" that he was guilty; a conclusion of guilt would have been unreasonable!

The thing I found most offensive last night as I watched the post trial coverage was one of the Martin family's lawyers claiming, once again, that it was a civil rights issue. The man actually compared Trayvon Martin to Medgar Evers, the civil rights activist assassinated outside his Mississippi home by a white supremacist in 1963. I found that comparison so unreal and so offensive that the Twilight Zone music began playing in my head.

Trayvon Martin's death was sad; it was unnecessary; but he was a troubled young man with a chip on his shoulder. That attitude caused him to confront Zimmerman who was walking back to his car at the time (certainly not "stalking" him.). His attitude and his unprovoked attack of George Zimmerman led to his death. (Zimmerman did NOTHING wrong or illegal by walking in the townhouse community even if he WAS following the young man. (I sometime think it's too bad he didn't have a dog with him; things might have been very different.)

But how, with a straight face, can an attorney compare this troubled young adult, a teenager with a history of drug use, vandalism, burglary, obscene tweets and Facebook posts, etc. to a hero of the civil rights movement? It was an insult to Evers, a World War II vet, a father of three, a man who committed himself to serving others. Medgar Evers was a real hero whose life was trivialized last night. Trayvon Martin was no hero and his life had nothing to do with civil rights. He was a troubled kid who often looked for a fight, the kind of kid one might fear with good reason. Did he "deserve" to die? Of course not. Neither does he deserve to be turned into a hero just because he died. He was no martyr for civil rights like Evers. But it would not surprise me to see Al Sharpton recommend raising a statue in his honor garbed in the famous hoodie. Reality doesn't matter to people like him, only seeking power even at the price of shattering the truth and inflaming the racial divide.

Trayvon might have lived to become a man like Evers if he turned his life around with the help of someone like George Zimmerman who mentored black kids. We'll never know. But the reality is that he died as the kind of person Neighborhood Watch was designed to protect communities from: a petty thief who cared little for the rights of others. Sad to say thuggery is becoming the norm for many young black men. For some, black flash mob theft is the crime of choice, for others it's the violent "knockout game." Last March, a 17-year-old black teen in Georgia accompanied by a 14-year-old accomplice took it a step further. He mugged and robbed a white woman pushing a baby in a stroller. When she said she had nothing, he shot and wounded her and then shot the baby in the face killing him. Will he be the next civil rights hero held up by Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson? Somehow, I think not.

Debra Nelson ran a "Kangaroo Court"...

...and "has no business sitting on the bench."

There are biased judges, and then there's Debra Nelson

America's Kangaroo Court System

The George Zimmerman Show Trial

The Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman tragedy is drawing to a conclusion, but it will never be ended and there will be no "winners." If George Zimmerman goes free, as he should since the prosecution never presented a case that upholds second degree murder (or even the manslaughter charge thrown in at the last moment), there are likely to be riots. A community already suffering from the sad events of that fateful night will be further ravaged. If Zimmerman is found guilty, it will be a real perversion of justice since all of the evidence supports Zimmerman's story that he was attacked and in fear for his life when he shot Martin. But I can't imagine that he doesn't wish with all his heart that somebody else was patrolling the community for Neighborhood Watch that night.

Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz, a well-known liberal,
has come out with a scathing commentary on the prosecution in the Zimmerman trial calling for their disbarment!
Dershowitz: Zimmerman Prosecutors 'Should Be Disbarred'

Dershowitz isn't the only one describing the unethical actions of the state's lawyers.
Why the Zimmerman Prosecutors Should Be Disbarred
And many are calling the courtroom fiasco a "show trial," the "strangest" show on TV, etc.

Ann Coulter calls the trial and illustration of "racial demagoguery"
Media bias has been evident since the very beginning as reporters depicted Martin, by all accounts a troubled drug-using teenager inclined to violence, as an angelic 12-year-old. They showed out of date photos and ignored his record of violence and drug use including many martial-arts-type fights and a violent attitude displayed in tweets and Facebook posts. They ignored the fact that Martin described by police as 6 feet and 160 pounds was in better physical shape than the 5'8" 190 pound Zimmerman.

On the other hand, media edited 911 tapes to "prove" that Zimmerman was a racist who "profiled" and targeted the teen and set out to do him harm because he was black, a strange accusation in view of Zimmerman and his wife mentoring black youth. But the media dug around in Zimmerman's past to paint him as a violent cop wannabee, determined to make him a black-hearted murderer. They described the dark skinned Hispanic as "white" to emphasize the racist slant they created. It was a scenario that matched their desire to see Zimmerman fried no matter what the evidence in court showed.

And if Trayvon was what Obama's "son" would look like, the president would have been the father of a troubled kid kicked out of the house by his mom for fighting, one who was a thief who vandalized property, smoked mirijuana (It was in his system when he died.) and was frequently in trouble. If Trayvon had just gone home that night he would be alive today. Instead he picked a fight because a "creepy ass cracker" appeared to be following him.

Pray for everyone involved in this sad case, especially for the repose of the soul of Trayvon, justice for George Zimmerman, and safety for the community of Sanford. In view of the mob outside the courthouse demanding "justice" for Trayvon which means lynching George Zimmerman, safety may be a matter of wishful thinking.
